The Monthly Membership meeting on Monday, December 4th, 2017 was one full of passion and productivity. The revised and corrected By-Laws were presented to the general membership for discussion/approval and some empassioned debates were involved. In the end the By-Laws were approved with a few changes. The next step will be to send the By-Laws to the Interantional Union for approval and await their decision.
There was also discussion among the membership to create a true and proper job description for the appointed representatives to better define their roles in the union and to have justification for them as non-production workers in future negotiations with the company. Again, this topic sparked empassioned debate but was resolved and a plan was agreed upon for moving forward.
Despite the empassioned and heated debates at the meeting, it was a very productive meeting and we're proud of our members for being passionate about Local 5010. In the end we emerged as a solitary, united front with a solid set of plans to move forward and strengthen local 5010 now and in the future.
